@shumi_4 There is a whole community of #Igbo learners on @sexyigbo Igbo is one of the most widely spoken languages in Nigeria with 30 million speakers. When written, it’s written with #NdebeScript and also Latin script, which is used for many languages.

ペー��ーナプキンの上に0-19まで書いてみた。字が下手なのは元からなので！！でも、これは日本人に有利な感じだね、「れ」に似てたり、「み」の丸の部分に似てるとこあるし。で、0-4と0,5,10,15を覚えれば後は組み合わせか。 #Ndebe #NdebeScript @sugabaddie I tried!! 🤣🤣🤣

Again for 15 in the new #NdebeScript numbers 16 is a visual combination of 15 and 1 17 is a visual combination of 15 and 2 18 is a visual combination of 15 and 3 19 is a visual combination of 15 and 4 So it's easy to remember: 15 + 1 = 16 15 + 2 = 17 15 + 3 = 18 15 + 4 = 19

The original Igbo number system was a Base 20 number system. This means Igbos originally counted in groups and factors of 20. The Igbo number system also had a sub base of 5, meaning where needed, groups of 20 could be divided by 5. Hence #NdebeScript is Base 20, sub-base 5

I’m in love with the new #NdebeScript numbers. 1. They make logical sense, and are thus easy to remember 2. You can write them RAPIDLY. 3. The design involves very few pen lifts and produces less hand fatigue when writing.

The original numerals for #NdebeScript didn’t perform as effortlessly as the rest of the script. This is really important because numbers have to be lightning fast to write for use in maths So I scrapped all the numbers entirely and started over from scratch to meet those goals

Let's talk about the complete overhaul of the Ndebe Script number system. #NdebeScript First of all thank you to @eldivine for his immediate commentary that the number system needed work. I realised the numbers didn’t really match the goals of the rest of the script.
