YIKES. The GOP is openly laughing about the fact that we can't afford food, healthcare, or housing — they're actually taunting us about our struggles on camera.
This year, tens of millions of Americans can't afford even a modest 4th of July. Forget burgers; beef prices are sky high.
Trump repeatedly signaled that affordability is the least of his concerns, literally said he loves inflation, and recently reaffirmed that he wants to drive housing prices up further.
Now rank and file Republicans are openly mocking Americans' pain.
Last night, reporter Pablo Manríquez caught up with Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), asking Nehls about affordability.
Nehls could not stop laughing, nor could he stop bragging about hosting lavish steak and lobster parties — with our tax dollars, and while families eat beans for weeks on end.
"Affordability — what are you talking about?" Nehls "joked."
"Over the 4th [of July weekend], I'm going to get me a couple of big lobster tails, I'm going to get me some nice rib-eyes," he bragged, as YouTube videos about stretching ramen go viral.
He simply couldn't stop himself from gleefully mocking the millions of Americans going hungry.
"I'm going to sit in my backyard with my family, my neighbors, and we’re going to be enjoying the 4th," Nehls boasted.
Another reporter told Nehls that most Americans are struggling due to Trump's compounding disasters, his looting of our Treasury, and his war of choice in Iran that left 13 Americans dead and cost the average family $1,313.
Nehls found that utterly hilarious, and insultingly quipped that maybe we all don't work as hard as he does.
It was bad enough when Republicans feigned concern for hungry American kids or families losing their healthcare because Jeff Bezos needed another yacht or Elon Musk needed more government cash to blow a rocket up.
Now they feel so certain the midterms are a lock despite historic polling lows that they aren't even pretending anymore. This is how they really feel about Americans starving, being evicted, and dying of preventible illness to enrich their donors.
The only thing these people hate more than America is Americans.
Do you work hard? Are you still being crushed by Trump's theft, grifting, and his anti-American policies? How many more times do they have to tell you they DO NOT CARE IF WE ALL STARVE before you believe them?
And most importantly — are you gonna do something about it this November?

This #Nehls guy is a fool and deep in the cult. Trump chose this war and is now caught in his own trap. He doesn’t want to lose but Iran is making him look stupid daily. And @TroyNehls, we the taxpayers are tired of the daily theft from our treasury. Grand theft is a crime.

All these people complaining, specifically the far-left nutjob Democrats, about the billion for the ballroom or the $1.7 billion for individuals who may have been wronged by the previous administration—the previous administration weaponized those agencies.
