When first asked to do a sit-up a yr ago…my back revolted. My trainer pulled me up for weeks so my spine could understand the movement. Finally, I managed to come up a few inches on my own. Then one day to my surprise I rose to a full upright posture. It was by far my most cherished moment in training. My lumbar spine is self fused as a result of MRSA bone destruction. I lost 1 1/2” height and my back twists and turns like a serpentine track. I still need 1 knee bent to do these, but I’m up to 2 sets 15 each side with a 30 lb weight in hand. There is always a way around and through physical limitations to build strength. When you find them…you’ll be rewarded with such a sense of accomplishment you’ll cherish those moments.
