I remember Nicholas Heyward Sr (whose 13-year-old son #NicholasHeywardJr was killed by NYPD in 1994) used to say that if you got a problem & you call the police, then you're gonna end up having *two* problems.
The 911 audio from Christian Diaz Rendon's killing is awful.
You hear his kids' terror as a gunman enters the house. Then relief as they tell police that their dad had subdued him.
Finally, you hear their anguish as a Phoenix cop shoots their dad dead.

@Lovemygrowth We stand with #NicholasHeywardJr and his family IDGAF what you think. He should not have been murdered for playing with a toy gun with an orange tip.
His name is still relevant today. #NicholasHeywardJr was murdered in 1994 with a toy gun and an orange tip. The #NYPD officer that murdered him never serve a day in prison even though he saw it was a toy gun. Nicholas father would join his beloved son in 2019 when he passed away.
Did you know in #Brooklyn #NYC #Gowanus Houses before #TamirRice there was #NicholasHeywardJr he was murdered for having a toy gun with an orange tip on it in 1994? His father who fought for justice until his death @hspirit13 in 2019. We pick up his fight

Former Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson helped NYPD get away with killing #AkaiGurley & #NicholasHeywardJr.
But check out so-called Public Advocate Jumaane Williams smiling next to de Blasio, scumbag Bronx Da Darcel Clark, & scumbag current Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez.
Ken Thompson made history as the first African American to serve as Brooklyn District Attorney.
His time in office was an unrivaled pursuit of a more fair system for all.
We lost Ken five years ago, but his impact on our city and our justice system is stronger than ever.
Former Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson’s office told Nicholas Heyward Sr (who had been demanding justice for his son #NicholasHeywardJr for years) that he shouldn’t protest for #AkaiGurley!
#NicholasHeywardJr's dad says @BrooklynDA told him to stop protesting for #AkaiGurley while they were investigating Nicholas' case. #ByeKen
Former Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson helped the cops who killed #AkaiGurley & #NicholasHeywardJr get away with those killings.
Even when the cop who killed #AkaiGurley was actually convicted, Thompson helped ensure the cop didn’t spend any time behind bars.!#ByeKen

Donna Heyward (wife of the late Nicholas Heyward Sr) showed support for Prakash yesterday. She spoke about how NYPD cops killed 13-year-old #NicholasHeywardJr in 1994 in Brooklyn as well as how her own son was railroaded & is locked up right now for a crime he didn’t do.
Unsurprisingly, NYPD is tied for 2nd place when it comes to police departments who have killed the most kids.
#NeverForget how NYPD cops got away with killing kids like 16-year-old #KimaniGray in 2013 & 13-year-old #NicholasHeywardJr in 1994!
.@ColumbusPolice and @NYPDnews are tied for the second-most police killings of kids since 2013. The @Chicago_Police is first — killing 12 children in total, including last month’s fatal shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo.
