Might not have shared this but for his nudge that I might have suffered my last heartbreak recently cos I'm "too blunt" 😅😂🤣
2) Someone said I’m "too blunt" and "I set boundaries too early."
Let me tell you why 👇
3) Met a lady recently during a trip to another SW state. Super fine. Well carved.
Amazing person.
We started talking. Things were going well.
4) Only problem: She was in a relationship.
I said "no pressure,
let’s take it slow."
She invited me to her city. I went.
Hotel for 2 days. She came to see me for 2 mins. No intimacy.
I respected it.
5) Still did big boy things:
Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Filled her tank at BOVAS. Twice. Perfume + chocolate gift.
6) She later came to MY city for work. Took her out to 3 different spots. Good vibes.
Still no pressure.
Still taking it slow.
7) Few days after she returned, she called:
"I broke up with my bf."
Me: "Oh. Why?"
8) Her: "He gave me N5M loan for my business. Now he wants it back."
9) Hold. Hold.
Hold it right there.
Too much to unpack.
10) I told her straight:
"I care, but N5M is way beyond where we are.
We agreed
to take things slowly.
I can’t in good conscience get involved financially in this."
11) She took offense.
Said I assumed she was begging me for money.
12) Here’s my take:
My bluntness didn’t chase her away.
It filtered her out.
13) The right person
will respect:
"I like you, but I don’t do financial rescues for relationships I’m not in."
The wrong person will call it wickedness and leave. And that’s fine.
14) Imagine if I said YES to N5M 2 weeks into knowing her.
Where would I be now?
15) So no, I’m not
