This is a cut and dry issue. We had an illegitimate election, it is well-documented that the Chairman has repeatedly, knowingly and blatantly violated the Sarpy @GOP Constitution, and has been unwilling to come to the table to address these grievances or reconcile. #NotMyChairman
📢 Attention everyone! There have been some misconceptions circulating regarding the upcoming meeting to discuss the potential removal of Sarpy County Chair, as well as the recent involvement of a lawyer in this matter along with the 3rd highest-ranking elected official in Nebraska.
It is crucial to address these points accurately by referencing the specific sections of the NEGOP Constitution. Let's set the record straight:
1. The Authority to Call a Meeting: According to Article IX, Section 6.3 of the NEGOP Constitution, the State Chairman has the authority to call a meeting of the NEGOP Executive Committee. This authority extends to convening meetings to address matters such as the removal of a county chair. Therefore, the meeting called by the State Chair to discuss Chairwoman Sandine's removal falls within their jurisdiction.
2. Distinction Between Special Meetings and Regular Meetings: There seems to be confusion regarding the term "special meeting." However, it is important to note that the term "special meeting" is specifically associated with the regular meetings of the Executive Committee, as stated in Article IX, Section 6.3. In this context, it refers to the mandatory three annual meetings that coincide with the State Central Committee meetings. The meeting in question, which addresses the removal of Chairwoman Sandine, is conducted under the authority of the State Chair and is not subject to the requirements of a special meeting.
3. Compliance with Notice Requirement: Contrary to assertions made, the State Chairman has fulfilled the constitutional requirement of providing a ten-day notice for the meeting. Article IX, Section 6.3 of the NEGOP Constitution explicitly mandates that written notice be given at least ten days in advance for meetings called by the Chairman or the Executive Committee. Therefore, the notice period for the upcoming meeting has been appropriately adhered to.
4. Primacy of NEGOP Constitution: It is essential to emphasize that the rules outlined in the NEGOP Constitution take precedence over any procedural requirements stipulated in Robert's Rules of Order. This principle is recognized in Article XII, Section 2 of the NEGOP Constitution, which states, "At all meetings herein provided, 'Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised' shall govern the procedure." Therefore, in the context of removal proceedings, the specific provisions outlined in the NEGOP Constitution supersede any general guidelines put forth by Robert's Rules of Order.
