Today, male runner Aayden Gallagher stole 2 girls’ spots in the 200 and 400 finals at the State track meet in Eugene…
The kicker? He did so by running the 200 almost a FULL SECOND slower than his PR. If you know anything about track, you know that one second in the 200 is a HUGE amount. No other girl was more than 2/10s of a second off her PR. Yet Aayden cruised to the finals without even trying, almost a full second slower than his PR. This is WRONG.
Tomorrow he will win the 200 for girls 6A and likely place somewhere between 1st and 3rd in the 400.
Let him run.
With the boys.
Where he belongs.
Because he is one.
