#nowdecanting 1998 @Marynissen Cabernet Franc. Cork is in great shape, a bit of sediment, colour is lovely, first smell is good. Now's the time to open the good stuff. With @mucklestonmeat strip loins tonight. #vqa

#nowdecanting 1998 @Marynissen Cabernet-Merlot blend. Cork in great shape, gorgeous inky sediment. Never fails to impress me how well the pioneering Niagara #vqa reds hold up over time.

Opening some of the good stuff. Tornadoes in the close vicinity make you realize how fragile things are. Cooking up a storm with best ingredients I can find from @mucklestonmeat and @ByWardMarketBIA - 1999 Cab Franc from late great Thomas & Vaughn Niagara #vqa #nowdecanting

#nowdecanting @HenryofPelham 1997 Reserve Baco Noir - didn't want to hold it any longer - let sit for an hour - not really much past prime - lovely colour and holds up perfectly with roast pork w apple, date, onion stuffing - I think 1 more still in the cellar #vqa

Staying in for NYE this year so #nowdecanting a treat - the 2nd line "Overture" from @OpusOneWinery. Bought in 2003 - still trying to find the date on the bottle. @hinterlandwine 2011 #vqa Rose in the fridge for midnight.

#nowdecanting a from-the-back-of-the-cellar 2001 @StrewnWinery Cabernet Franc. Was worried it was over the hill but surprisingly lovely. Def a drink now but not at all too late. Another win for older Niagara #vqa reds. (still have a couple of 1998 "cellar monsters" too...)
