A6: I think by simply letting them know how much appreciation we have for their commitment to educating us. Our school writes notes to our teachers telling them just this, and even has students who are close with certain teachers do it on a more personal level. #OASCask
A5: Our school’s FCCLA Chapter is a big contributor to this week as well. We could most likely coordinate with them to host a luncheon for all the teachers on site, and even coordinate on getting our teacher’s more personal gifts and writing notes. #OASCask
A4: I would say Byng has been pretty involved in celebrating our teachers, but of course there is always room to take things up a notch and improve. Something that sets our school apart is the common day-to-day communication that we truly are thankful for them. #OASCask
Q3: William Michael 2019-20 Westmoore President. We don’t do a lot for our teachers all year, but lots of times we have extra food from various events. So we always give it away to teachers and staff! #OASCask
A2: Last year we got them their favorite drink and candy and wrote them thoughtful notes thanking them for being our educators, and this year we will be hosting a breakfast for them! #OASCask
Hey I’m Austin Dedmon and I attend Byng High School where I am a member of our student council and will be serving as the 2019-2020 SPIKE Week Chair (a.k.a. our Philanthropy Week). #OASCask
A1: Noble does celebrate teacher appreciation week. It’s always ran by a few office staff. Our student council is always swamped with Senior Sendoff during that week so it’s hard to get involved. I’ve been pushing to create a committee for teacher appreciation week. #OASCask
A1: Byng High School does participate in teacher appreciation and is driven by both Students and Administration! #OASCask
Please join us this Sunday at 7pm for our #oascask chat. This week’s topic is Teacher Appreciation Week. State President @tobiasjohnson_ will be monitoring the chat from his account. STUCO students and teachers are welcomed to participate!!!
@tobiasjohnson_ Free t-shirts for crosstown clash for basketball—free admission to first 50–great idea for STUCO advisors to get with their athletic directors @BoMaynes to work on ways to get students to games. Part of that is financial—and depends on what a school can afford to give. #oascask
Q4: With a school that is 50% free & reduced lunch, it is important to remember not everyone has social media—so we use flyers, 4 by 4 foot announcement signs, Hall Dec, announcements as well as twitter, insta, snap & Facebook (if it’s money related for those parents). #OASCask
Q3: Making your assemblies an event—we kick off Fall w/ HIGH/north & spirit is off the charts—Blacklight (for Winter Sports) is the greatest pump up & getting a Ninja Dome for Spring Sports was a win. TPAL has been hit or miss depending on time/thought put into them #OASCask
Q2: Students are busier than ever/more choices as to how to spend their time/don’t care/not connected. I also think technology is a double edged sword—some student group me’s at our school are toxic—which leads people NOT to want to spend time with each other. #OASCask
Q1: Depends on the sport/event but a solid 7 average—school spirit depends on strong student leadership and buy in and it’s just not there—our girls basketball won state this year and the attendance at their games was abysmal. #OASCask

@tobiasjohnson_ No we don’t! Our schools are so competitive that bragging rights is enough to get everyone involved #OASCask
@tobiasjohnson_ @TIGERPALOOZA We divide @TIGERPALOOZA committee into teams under a committee chair (sometimes we have had 4 sometimes 3) STUCO is divided into those teams as well to run an event. #OASCask
