In the SUPPRESS-AF trial, LVA ablation in addition to PVI did not prove significant efficacy in patients with persistent AF. However, potential efficacy was suggested in patients with advanced LA remodeling.

New paper from the EARNEST-PVI trial(PVI alone vs. PVI-plus). Performing linear ablation in addition to PVI can decrease the likelihood of recurring AF/AT, but it may also raise the risk of iatrogenic ATs.
