@crhallberg 7/5 I'm terrible at compliments, but here's some strengths: (1) It works (2) It's fast (3) Faceting is good (4) working searchbox everywhere (5) I didn't do a full mobile test, but it shrinks very nicely (6) I LOVE using > not -- in LCSH (7) Map feature is good #OPACFriday
@crhallberg 5/5 Back to UI, this is good example of too much going on, and too shouty. Just have a link that says "Add the first tag" or "Add a tag" or "No tags. Add one." #OPACFriday
@crhallberg 4/5 I love that you have fake covers (above) with the title and author on them, not just "no cover." But improvements can be made in readability and attractiveness. These covers (below) come standard with Syndetics Unbound. #OPACfriday
@crhallberg 3/5 Get rid of tabs. Our stats data—across hundreds of libraries using LTFL and Syndetics Unbound—shows that putting content under tabs cuts use by at least 75%! Look at sites like Amazon; people prefer to scroll today, they don't want to click about to see stuff. #OPACfriday
@crhallberg 2/5 So much can simply be removed, clearing away mental space. For starters: search highlighting; numbers by checkboxes; 3 repetitions of the search string; all those trailing /s; words like "showing" and "results"; combine call number and location without either word #OPACFriday
