I kept that same logo in the upper left hand corner of my profile since then. It's amazing how I went from a disgruntled Obama voter to a right-populist in less than a decade.
I just wanted to play video games man.
The original #GamerGate was the creation, testing, and establishment of an entirely new network of people. It was #NotYourShield, #OpSkyNet. It was a billion pieces of (some quite remarkable) Vivian James art. It was dominating Trending back when Trending was valuable.

I first heard about Megalia while the West was in the midst of its own kerfluffle - #GamerGate. I was a 4chan regular when it exploded, and owe the size of this account to the networking push created at its outset with #OpSkynet. As part of #NotYourShield, I joined a loose collective of minorities in defense of gamers against the journalists refusing to allow them to use us as a tool to attack gaming as a "straight white cis boys' club". In the midst of it all, some Koreans came to 4chan to inform us of their own struggles with the group. Since then, I'd heard very little - games coming out of Korea continued to have sexy female characters in them, so I thought the whole thing had been resolved with the impeachment of Park Geun-Hye.
From this video, I've been able to learn that not just that incident, but also Megalia and S. Korea's new rabid cancel culture - everything that has been happening in Korea is, in fact, a symptom of a much larger social problem, a too-rigid system which demands far too much of young Korean men and mandates that everyone has people above to be subservient to and people below subservient to them. A perfect storm of social factors is crushing my generational brothers and sisters in Korea, and something has got to give.

@Orange_Sealion The interest has waned. You can still try to get a community going with the former hashtag #OpSkynet but you'd probably be lucky to get a handful of followers.
People are really weird about following back or just following people in general.
Nobody seems to want to follow back anymore.
I miss the old Gooblygoopygate days when people followed you back. You had that whole #OpSkyNet hashtag just for it.
For what it's worth, I think I gained most of those followers through the hashtag #OpSkyNet
I won't go into detail what that hashtag was about but I think many of you who've been here since 2014 will definitely know.
