#osucomm3554 I believe extractive is the most commonly used uncertainty reduction strategy. It is the easiest way to find a lot of information about someone without directly interacting with them. Passive is less effective & has been cut down dramatically.

#OSUComm3554 I think that SNS do cause people to embody their online personality. People constantly post the best things about their self online. People will go out and do things for pictures/content in the real world that they may not really WANT to do. Margo Hunter

#OSUComm3554 I think overtime people will begin to embody their online personality because it is perceived as being better. I also think they do this to try and maintain their reputation. They don’t want to get “caught” being one way in real life but a different way in person.

#OSUComm3554 Unfriending someone on a social media platform is a simple act. It allows for users to interpret the action in their own way, no matter if they were unfollowed or simply a third party user. Technology has a variable impact that can be much greater or much smaller.
