¿Puede ser el primer rival real que rompa el duopolio de Tether y Circle? Por capacidad de distribución y por modelo económico, es el candidato más serio que hemos visto. Buenísima noticia para el sector, ver un producto así.
Ahora bien, la pregunta que de verdad me interesa es ¿Y Europa?
Mientras debatimos sobre el euro digital —una infraestructura centralizada, años de desarrollo, todavía sin fecha clara de utilidad real— un consorcio privado acaba de poner sobre la mesa rieles globales, 24/7, con cero comisiones y yield repartido. Y las fintechs europeas no están en la foto fundacional.
A las fintechs, bancos y emisores europeos: estamos asistiendo a una redefinición de la economía de los pagos al otro lado del océano, de nuevo. Si el modelo es «cero comisiones + yield de vuelta al que distribuye», ¿qué propuesta de valor le queda a los esquemas tradicionales? ¿Y qué papel quiere jugar Europa: construir, integrarse, o mirar?
