After the infamous UC Davis pepperspraying incident in 2011 (RE #OccupyCal), there was huge momentum to get rid of UC presidents like this, & abolish the UC Regents that appoint them.
The UAW, of course, sabotaged this, just like they sabotaged anti-genocide protests last year.

The second I set up #OccupyCal as a 501c3, the UAW 2865 faction went behind the scenes to sabotage us and all collect donations into the counter-movement of Occupy Education which stole not only $10Ks from us, but did fuckall with the $100Ks they raised.

The then UC Berkeley chancellor declared "Students linking arms is not non-violent."
University administrators saying "people feel threatened by the protesters" to justify mass arrests is the same as when cops say "I feared for my life" after they shot someone who was just holding their phone.
