That's interesting. During October I've been posting church art images that I've taken over the years to illustrate significant figures in the Old Testament, in sequential order, with the hashtag #OctoberOT. But arriving at Esther, I almost had second thoughts about posting her, given the current situation. The outcome of the events of her book are pretty horrible, and not entirely untopical. I may be guilty of over-simplifying the events in my posts today, but not unreasonably I think, as the story is mainly about Esther's defeat of Haman. I think in the context of the OT, the triumphalism of her book is understandable, especially as it comes in a bundle with Ezra and Nehemiah and the return from exile, but even so...
