The story is about three main people and a #corporate interest.
A. #Varaki, a political YouTuber and journalist known for criticizing the current Dravidian Model government. His channel bothers the government, which led to his arrest right before opening a new office. He was detained under the Goondas Act, a law for repeat violent criminals, and labeled as a sexual offender based on a weak complaint. Supporters think this was meant to quiet him.
B. Savukku Shankar (@SavukkuShankar), another controversial YouTuber, journalist, and former government clerk, known as Tamil's Julian Assange for exposing corruption in politics, bureaucracy, and judiciary. In a video, he describes the financial and legal problems he and his colleagues have faced, including frozen bank accounts for his media organization. He says it's political, and that the construction company Bashyam paid to get him jailed because he exposed their illegal buildings and money issues. #Bashyam has been in court over land deals.
