Roadmap to increase mining difficulty when switching to difficulty-based reward mechanism (#offline_mining)
The roadmap to switch to the new reward mechanism is expected to take place next June, which will immediately switch to 500 Wei for each difficulty hash, which may cause a big shock to miners and the ecosystem, CAU emissions may immediately drops to 0, miners will not mine and validators will not be rewarded for a long time which will have a negative impact on Canxium.
Therefore, we propose a more sustainable roadmap, the reward will gradually decrease each month from 4250 Wei/Hash (equivalent to the current 0.25 CAU for 60TH), gradually decreasing each month by 250 Wei within 16 months for until 250 Wei per difficulty hash, equivalent to 1 CAU for every 4PH of mining difficulty.
We believe this will be a more sustainable and secure roadmap that will incentivize miners to continue mining and CAU holders will be incentivized to become more validators.
The data are subject to change at the time of the hardfork, as the current 60TH mining difficulty is quite volatile, we prioritize data closer to the hardfork date.
