Greg has witnessed the decline and devastation of Gippsland’s coal fired power industry and the steadily increasing cost of electricity in homes, small businesses and industry. His philosophy has always been not to passively stand by and observe a problem but to try and do something about it, if possible. “One Nation proposes the construction of coal fired HELE (High Efficiency Low Emission) power stations. These will provide our state’s households, small businesses and industries with reliable, low cost, base load electricity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, they produce valuable industrial byproducts eg. urea, nitrogen, ammonia, hydrogen etc.” Greg is also passionate about responsibly reopening Victoria’s native timber industry. Besides providing a valuable source of regional employment, this will reduce the risk of catastrophic bushfires and enable a return to the national production of white paper, a resource currently imported from overseas. He also wants to see a return to return to the training of apprentices in a range of trades to overcome the predicted shortages of these in the next 5 years.
