This has been a massive storm. Clean up efforts continue. This is an incredibly scary time, but I want to assure you that there is an incredible amount of gear and people working hard to dig you out. They will get to you, but it’s really important that the teams know who and where you are. If you are a constituent of mine or a resident of Pictou County: 1. If your road is completely impassable (some roads have one lane cleared for access but many still have nothing cleared at all and we want confirmation of which roads those are), also let public works know by reaching out via: https://t.co/wC2iR5EZOC This website is run by Pictou County Regional Emergency Management team. Alternatively, if you are in any other impacted area of the Province - mainly Antigonish through Cape Breton - you can also reach out to your local Regional Emergency Management teams or you can call the Province Coordination Centre at: 902-424-1891. Public Works has hundreds of pieces of equipment working on clearing snow. They are working 24 hours a day and will continue to do so. Once all roads are passable (even with just one lane) they will come back and complete the cleanup by widening roads, winging off road shoulders, etc. As a Province, we continue to mobilize resources. Over the next day, there will be hundreds of Team Rubicon members arriving in the affected area to assist with wellness checks and shovelling…that’s why it’s very important they know who you are. We’ve also deployed provincial snowmobile teams and we continue to add snow removal equipment and will continue to do so until everyone is dug out and is safe. These are trying times, I’m really pleased to see so many people stepping up to help one another. There are so many examples of neighbours helping neighbours. It is who we are. Thank you for that.
