Close up photo of #OxeyeDaisies in my #oxeyedaisyproject Less #butterflies visiting the project this year.
@LGSpace My garden has plenty of flowers including an #OxeyeDaisyProject but this year I can count the number of #butterflies on one hand in any week. Never experienced a low count before. Not many bees either. Our #masonbees came out early due to sunny period so probably died prematurely
It's an honour to have been elected recently a Fellow of the #LinneanSociety of London. The @LinneanSociety is the oldest learned society devoted to the science of natural history, founded in 1788. The photo was taken earler today of a section my #oxeyedaisyproject. #OxeyeDaisies
Is there such a concept as the #perfectflower, or in this case, the perfect #OxeyeDaisy? Probably not! No flower in my #OxeyeDaisyProject appears to be identical. They suffer wind and rain damage rather easily.
A recent photo of #OxeyeDaisies. Those daisies on the edge of my #OxeyeDaisyProject are flourishing better then those at the centre. To be investigated. #ecology #biodiversity #nature
@RevRichardColes Yes! I've been running an #OxeyeDaisyProject for the past 222 weeks with one photo every week uploaded to my instagram account. The flowers are great for #insects #butterflies #bees #birds and bugs in general.
My #OxeyeDaisyProject needs to be controlled as it is capable of taking over the entire #garden. It started some years ago when I left the #lawn uncut for a while to see what #wildflowers would appear, & #OxeyeDaisies popped up. They have spread to other parts of the garden too!
Every day is a #specialday & today is #internationalbiodiversityday. We can all get involved. Just leaving a patch of a #lawn uncut anything can happen. Photo shows #cowslips #bluebells & #OxeyeDaisies in my uncut lawn #BiodiversityDay2023 #biodiversityday #OxeyeDaisyProject
The #cowslips in my #OxeyeDaisyProject are looking great! It's hard to predict what will grow when you leave a patch in the #lawn uncut. Have a go during #NoMowMay A lawn or #grassverge may be full of surprises! Let's encourage #biodiversity, even in #lawns!
My #OxeyeDaisyProject and #lawn have really suffered from the #heat and lack of #rain this #summer. Now the #shrubs, #trees & #plants are suffering too. The impact of #climatechange is relentless and will only worsen.
This year my #OxeyeDaisyProject and #lawn have suffered from #extremeheat and a lack of #rain. Haven't needed to cut the surrounding #grass for 7 weeks. Sadly, due to #climatechange #TheFutureIsHot
Over the weekend a #meadowbrown #butterfly visited my #OxeyeDaisyProject. These #butterflies like #longgrass and #meadows. I wasn't quick enough to take a photo with its wings open! #30DaysWild #NaturePhotography
This photo highlights what can happen if you leave your lawn uncut. I now call it my #OxeyeDaisyProject. Great for #butterflies, #bees, #moths, #birds & #biodiversity. So perhaps give #NoMowMay a go as you never know what surprises are in store!
At this time of the year it's great to see #cowslips come into #flower. These are located in my #OxeyeDaisyProject which will shortly take up a lot of the #lawn. #ecopsychology #wildflowers
My #OxeyeDaisyProject is about to burst into #flower! It's amazing what can happen if you leave a patch of lawn uncut in #Spring. Great for #butterflies, #bees & many other bugs. #30DaysWild #biodiversity #OxeyeDaisies #OxeyeDaisy #ecopsychology #wildflowers

This is the 16th #photo in my weekly record monitoring the growth and decline of #OxeyeDaisies in my #OxeyeDaisyProject #LeucanthemumValgareProject. Still attracting #butterflies. #ecopsychology
This is the 15th #photo in my weekly record monitoring of the growth and #flowering of #OxeyeDaisies in my #OxeyeDaisyProject #LeucanthemumValgareProject. The #flowers have past their peak although still attracting #butterflies. #biodiversity #mindfulgardening #ecopsychology
This is the 14th photo in my weekly series recording the growth & #flowering of #OxeyeDaisies in my #OxeyeDaisyProject #LeucanthemumValgareProject. #Flowers are past their best but are still attracting birds, #butterflies & #bees. #biodiversity #mindfulgardening #ecopsychology
