If you ask ChatGPT via iPhone to sum up everything you have ever written (or every photo you have taken) in 3 sentences, will Apple give ChatGPT access to all your documents? Refuse the request? What if the user says “write a poem using my bank’s password?” My expectation is that Apple, given its history of privacy and sandboxing, would never fork over all your documents nor your passwords nor give any third party full access to your device but if they did, @elonmusk would have a point. (And I too would look for a new ecosystem.) Thanks to @dromanocpm for helping sharpen what the real question here seems to be: what exactly does get sent to OpenAI, and what access do they have. I would appreciate more clarity on this.
