IRGC strikes raise Peshmerga death toll to at least nine
Hengaw has learned that at least nine Peshmerga were killed in missile and drone strikes carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Friday, July 17, 2026, targeting a base of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the mountainous area of Zargwez village near Sulaymaniyah, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The death toll is expected to rise.
The IRGC targeted one of the party's bases with six missiles and drones.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
