It’s a bittersweet moment for me. I’ve decided to retire from #PEVFD after 9+ years of service. I want to thank each and every member I ever served with for your service and dedication to the community of Port Edward. The pleasure was truly mine. PEVFD 111 out!
From reviewing hazards at local marinas, to running portable pumps at Prudhomme Lake, & testing hydrants in local neighborhoods, #PEVFD has been busy over the last month! Always looking for more volunteers to join the crew!
On this second Sunday in Sept, #PEVFD will take a moment to acknowledge and reflect on Canadian National Firefighter Memorial Day. This day is about honouring and remembering our fallen heroes and reminding their families that the sacrifices of their loved ones are not forgotten.
An attack line with foam from Engine 1 quickly brought the fire under control. A secondary attack line, using a portable pump from the nearby lake, was also put into service to help fight the fire and cool the vehicle. #PEVFD 2/2
Yesterday @ 13:29 #PEVFD were dispatched to a logging truck which had caught on fire on the side of Highway #16. 1/3
The Port Edward Volunteer Fire & Rescue Member’s Association donated $500 to the #PrinceRupert Salvation Army. We are proud to help other local organizations who also help serve our communities. #PEVFD
This evening #PEVFD has already been called out to two separate incidents involving downed power lines. Always a pleasure to work with BC Hydro crews. Tonight is a great reminder for Port Edward residents to have emergency kits fully stocked with working flashlights. 🔦
Today #PEVFD members practiced their Auto Extrication skills. Members went over the basics of stabilizing a vehicle, breaking glass, popping tires, cutting metal, & spreading metal.
Tonight #PEVFD celebrated one of our own, Marcus Jardin, for his 5+ years of service with our Dept. We also congratulate Marcus on his appointment to the Prince Rupert Fire Department where he will continue to build his skill set & help serve his community well into the future.

#PEVFD hosted the Prince Rupert Harley Riders for their annual Toy Run. We’re happy to feed another organization that gives back to our local communities. Thank You to the local businesses that donated to help make this happen including McDonalds, Save On Foods, and Rupert Meats
#PEVFD wants to remind drivers that schools are open tomorrow, which means school zones are back in effect. Drive carefully.
This past Friday, the #PEVFD crew were volunteering their time for our friends @NPCannery and showing off their burger-flipping skills. 🍔
#PEVFD would like to thank the #PrinceRupert RCMP for providing traffic control during the incident and also remind drivers to slow down when driving through accident scenes. 3/3
@ 5:02 pm on Sat, June 18th, #PEVFD responded to a structure fire on the 700 block of Sunset Drive.
Our fire crew, who arrived w/ a quick response time, aggressively attacked the fire with multiple hoses & were able to prevent it from spreading to neighbouring structures. 1/2
In preparation for our upcoming auto extrication course, tonight #PEVFD members were familiarizing themselves with our #Holmoltro rescue tools and learning some of the basic techniques to safely cut open vehicles.
Huge thanks to Prince Rupert Fire Rescue for familiarizing our crew with their apparatus and equipment. These types of visits help our two crews become better synced for future mutual aid calls. #PEVFD
