In an interview by @GDorison , Greg from #PixelHeart shared exclusive information discussed the situation surrounding the #NeoGeo AES+, Plaion, and the #Visco games. _PixelHeart, which acquired the Visco catalogue a few years ago after the company shut down, initially feared that the announcement of the NeoGeo AES+ could prevent them from producing AES games in the future. _However, Greg explains that #Plaion would be open to working with independent publishers. _He also gives some interesting details about production costs: producing a PixelHeart AES game costs around €150 per unit. This cost remains high because of the very small print runs, usually 300 Japanese copies and 300 US copies per game. On top of that, the Visco licence fee also has an impact on profitability. _Another notable point: their Chinese PCB supplier reportedly increased its prices after the announcement of the AES+. _Despite this context, most PixelHeart AES games received a boost in sales, with the exception of #CaptainTomaday. Greg also states that PixelHeart’s AES prices will remain the same as they are today. _The case of #GladMort is particularly revealing: the AES version was released in 300 US copies and 300 Japanese copies, but it is still not profitable because the development costs have not yet been recouped. _Regarding the Visco games currently published on AES by PixelHeart, Greg makes it clear that they will never be released in a Plaion-published edition.
