While the Philippines is in the process of acquiring Hyundai Heavy Industries' new frigates and OPVs, there are moves to acquire the PKMR. Although the PKMR features good firepower, propulsion systems, sensors, and EW capabilities, the platform itself is excellent. Therefore, in terms of habitability and maintenance, it would be slightly better to use smaller LOGIR 70mm missile pods instead of the biryong (Wyvern) 130mm missile pods, or to operate with the launchers removed during peacetime. Of course, they will likely adopt the Korean Navy specification model as is. LOGIR is currently in operation in both ground-based and sea-based models by the South Korean, UAE, and Saudi Arabian militaries. Meanwhile, the ground-based Biryong-II model is currently under development. Furthermore, the Navy and Hanwha are planning to go a step further and apply the K239 long-range tactical missile pod to various unmanned naval platforms and large naval platforms using a sea-based model. (They plan to deploy this system on small unmanned platforms incapable of operating VLS, as a replacement for naval guns on certain warships, or housed within concealed containers.) We refer to this sea-based K239 Chunmoo missile pod as NMRLS or MMRL.
