The 6th Pacific Islands Testing Committee (#PITC) Meeting, held under the Pacific Quality Infrastructure Initiative (#PQII) on 18 September 2026, brought together Pacific Islands Forum members to strengthen regional cooperation in testing and quality infrastructure. Key outcomes included endorsement of the PITC Terms of Reference and updates on major regional initiatives, including the EU-funded work carried out by the UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization (#UNIDO), the PIFS, and the Asia Pacific Food Analysis Network (#APFAN) to support Pacific laboratories. Members also endorsed the reappointment of Mr Christopher Mosoro (#PNG) as PITC Chair and Dr Vincent Lal (#Fiji) as Co-Chair. To strengthen coordination across PQII, members received updates from the Chairs of the Pacific Islands Metrology Committee and Pacific Islands Standards Committee, highlighting how the different technical committees complement and support one another. Through #PQII, this work supports implementation of the Pacific Aid-for-Trade Strategy 2026–2030 and contributes to the vision of the #2050Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent. #OneBluePacific #testing #PITC #QualityInfrastructure #AidforTrade #pacific
