#BTQ 가 살아남는 방법
BTQ를 보면 그냥 또 하나의 양자 보안 회사라고
생각하기 쉬운데, 조금 들여다보면 결이
좀 다릅니다.
이 회사의 핵심은 Preon이라는 디지털 서명
알고리즘인데, NIST 차세대 표준 후보로까지
올라갔던 기술이에요.
단순히 “양자 내성이다” 수준이 아니라,
zk-SNARK 기반으로 설계됐다는 점이
눈에 들어옵니다.
쉽게 말하면, 내용을 다 공개하지 않아도
“이게 맞다”는 걸 증명할 수 있는 구조라는 거죠.
블록체인이나 금융 거래처럼 신뢰가 핵심인
영역에 꽤 잘 어울립니다.
제가 흥미롭게 본 건 키 사이즈입니다.
보통 격자 기반 암호는 키가 수 KB 단위인데,
Preon은 공개키와 비밀키가 수십 바이트
수준이라고 합니다.
이건 IoT나 하드웨어 지갑처럼 대역폭과
저장공간이 제한된 환경에선 꽤 큰 차이입니다.
키 생성도 빠릅니다.
AES 가속기를 활용해서 한두 번 연산으로
키 쌍을 만든다고 하니, 속도 면에서도
경쟁력이 있어 보입니다.
임계값 서명이나 선택적 공개 같은 복잡한
기능도 유연하게 구현 가능하다고 하고요.
소프트웨어에서 끝나는 게 아니라,
QCIM이라는 칩까지 직접 개발 중인 점도
눈에 띕니다.
컴퓨트-인-메모리 구조라서 데이터 이동을
줄이고, 그만큼 전력 소모와 지연 시간을
낮췄다는 설명입니다.
AES 처리 속도는 기존 대비 약 5배,
연산당 에너지 소비는 1µJ 미만이라고 하니,
하드웨어 지갑이나 IoT 쪽을 노리는
그림이 그려집니다.
경쟁 구도도 꽤 빡빡합니다.
#PQShield 는 NIST 표준 알고리즘 쪽에서
존재감이 크고, 자동차나 모바일 칩 보안
분야에서 이미 글로벌 제조사들과 협업
중입니다.
#SEALSQ 는 반도체 기반으로 물리적
AI와 양자 보안을 결합한 칩을 밀고 있고요.
QNu Labs는 QKD와 QRNG 쪽에서
강점을 갖고 있습니다.
여기에 Thales, NXP, IBM 같은 기존 보안
대기업들도 HSM에 PQC를 얹는 방식으로
점유율을 방어 중입니다.
블록체인 쪽으로 가면 Canaan이나 Bitfury
같은 하드웨어 플레이어들과도 잠재적
경쟁 구도가 형성됩니다.
정리하면, BTQ는 알고리즘 하나로 승부 보는
회사는 아닙니다.
Preon, QCIM, 그리고 QPoW까지 묶어서
풀스택 전략을 가져가려는 모습입니다.
특히 한국의 ICTK, 대만 ITRI와의 협력은
꽤 중요한 포인트라고 봅니다.
기술이 아무리 좋아도 실제 칩 양산으로
이어지지 않으면 시장에서
힘을 받기 어렵습니다.
결국 관건은 1~2년 안에 이 기술이 “논문과 발표”
를 넘어 실제 제품과 매출로 연결되느냐일 겁니다.
이 회사를 볼 때, 단순한 테마주라기보다는
구조적으로 차별화를 시도하는 팀인지,
그 실행력이 어디까지 나오는지를
계속 지켜봐야 할것입니다.
