Professor Adrian Williams will be charing the fourth session of the PSPA Research Information Day.
This session will look at Navigating and improving the health and social care system and will include speakers such as Mrs Rachel Marsden and Dr Boyd Ghosh.

Following lunch, we moved on to our third session of the day. This session is called Cures: Clinical trials and is chaired by Dr Catherine Mummery.

First up during session 3 is Professor James Rowe who is joining us to speak about NORAPS study which is looking into treating apathy and impulsivity in people living with PSP & CBD.
It is hoped this could improve the outcome of living with the illnesses

Lastly in session 2, we now hear from Professor Tammaryn Lashley about brain donation.

We now have @timrittman from Cambridge joining us to talk about the role of artificial intelligence.
Currently, there can be delays to the diagnosis of PSP & CBD. However, using algorithms, AI may help to improve this. #PSPAResearch
Any stem cell can be converted into a master stem cell.
This means thousands of drugs can be screened to see if they could turn an unhealthy cell into a healthy cell #PSPAResearch
Microglia can help to digest Tau but it can also aid an increase in Tau. So studying Microglia is very complex.

Neuropathy can aid in the diagnosis of PSP & CBD.
Tangles of Tau can look very different in PSP & CBD, as well as in other tauopathies - such as Alzheimers #PSPAResearch
Dr Annelies Quaegebeur will now talk about how Neuropathology can help in terms of searching for causes and a cure.
Neuropathy is brain tissue under the microscope - showing nerve cells and glia.
