Getting to know #yourEMS during #PSWeek2022: #DYK we have Incident Response Paramedics, able to manage prolonged/complex scenes, or ones which have a hazardous material component to them (i.e. biological, chemical, nuclear, etc.), while providing specialized care.

#yourEMS is constantly training. Real-time simulation & high-fidelity mannequins help hone practitioners’ skills, procedures & patient assessment. Learning & Development division proctors a number of Mobile Simulation Training Units & static labs across Alberta. #PSWeek2022

#yourEMS Public Safety Unit specializes in supporting various law enforcement agencies during large-crowd situations. The unit helps ensure public gatherings are safe for all involved. Members are trained to provide medical care in challenging environments. #PSWeek2022

#yourEMS utilizes fixed-wing aircraft to provide air ambulance services. Bases are located throughout Alberta. Team members have training specific to the flight environment and ensure a high level of care for patients. Helicopter transport is also used. #PSWeek2022

#yourEMS Rapid Access Paramedic utilize bicycles to provide response at large-scale events, or events with complex terrain. These #paramedics provide patient care in areas where immediate access may be difficult by ambulance. #PSWeek2022

Getting to know #yourEMS during #PSWeek2022: Tactical Emergency Medical Support has cross-training to integrate with various law enforcement agencies. TEMS’ training puts them in a position of being able to assist with planning and coordinating during dynamic situations.

#yourEMS Mobile Integrated Health provides care at home in the community, in collaboration with care providers. The team works to improve access & provide innovative approaches to mobile medicine that traditionally requires a hospital admission. #PSWeek2022
