The devastation left in WNC by #Helene is absolutely heartbreaking. According to Fox Weather some places in the mountains received over 20 inches of rain, w/one receiving almost 30. Prayers for our friends as they begin the recovery process, even as we continue ours from #PTC8.

It's possible that North Carolina has two 20" rainfall events in two weeks. One at the coast in Carolina Beach with the no name #PTC8 storm, another in the mountain peaks of Western North Carolina with #Helene. #ncwx

Greater tidal amplitude during @NCKingTides is expected but I've noticed elevated water levels on the oceanfront/estuarine shoreline @CapeHatterasNPS and drainage ditches along @NCDOT_NC12. The @noaaocean data displays elevated water levels above predicted since #PTC8 #ncwx #obx
