Before pushing the #BulletTrain corridors, we need to fix the ground reality of #IndianRailways first.
Punctuality: Many zones add 30-120 mins slack time to show better #Punctuality, while actual delays remain common. 100s of late running trains (DUE TO 35 CAUSES AFFECTING PUNCTUALITY OF M/Exp)
Route Congestion: Key trunk GQ/GD routes are running at 120-180% capacity, leaving no room for additional trains. Till today, Surface crossing were quite headache for the OPTG.
Overcrowding: General & sleeper coaches operate beyond capacity daily. Clear sign of unmet affordable demand.
Ticketing Crisis: IRCTC faces #Tatkal failures, heavy load issues & rising #dynamicfares.
Passenger issues: Overpriced food inside the trains, poor hygiene, lack of basic amenities at many stations.
Safety gaps: No proper #RPF escorting in many trains, frequent nuisance by unauthorised transgenders, vendors, beggars and others causing passenger discomfort. Even thousands of level crossings yet to be eliminated & full rollout of Kavach is still pending.
Meanwhile, premium trains like #VandeBharatExpress are not running full on many routes. Now planning Bullet Trains with expected fares ₹4000-₹6000+?
In a price-sensitive country, how many can afford this?
What India actually needs:
1. Track doubling/tripling & decongestion
2. Reliable punctuality (real, not on record)
3. Affordable fares & better ticketing
4. Best suggestion: High-frequency Intercity trains including #NamoBharatRapidRail (#VandeMetro) with 90-110 kmph avg speed with reasonable fare.
#India does not need speed for a few. It needs reliable, #affordableRailways for millions first. We need to fix the foundation first, then we can seriously look at a high-speed Rail network.

🚨 Breaking News: Ministry of Railways has set a target to complete the DPRs for three bullet train corridors by March 2027.
1. Hyderabad - Chennai (2 hrs 55 min)
2. Hyderabad - Bengaluru (1 hr 13 min)
3. Patna - Siliguri (2 hrs 55 min)
The majority of these lines go through Andhra Pradesh.
