In 2017, the results from the first year of the @DiabetesUK funded DiRECT study showed that Type 2 may be able to be out into remission in some people. 46% of people in the study managed this #PWD2018
The first diabetic eye screening took place in Newcastle with Prof Roy Taylor driving round with a retinal camera in the back of an ambulance in the 1980s. #PWD2018

1. Speak to a professional
2. Don't exercise if you're over about 13mmol as there's a risk you can go higher and flirt with DKA
3. Think about your background insulin and how it'll affect you
4. Setting a goal and having a plan makes a difference
