Teachers evaluating #learning on a continuum of #multidisciplinary #interdisciplinary and #Transdisciplinary @ICSAddis : how can we become more #Transdisciplinary in our approaches? #ICSAddis #PYPTD
Using #playful #inquiry teachers create #conceptual #Learning experiences to investigate the depth of #Transdisciplinary learning. #icsaddis #PYPTD
Inspiring #PYPtd.
What examples of authentic transdisciplinary learning in action can you share with our learning commmunity?

We were very proud PYP parents tonight! What a great exhibition opening. Great job AJ! @StevenWishart2 #pypx #PYPTD @ibpyp
@shivani52369989 @Monitasen @ibpyp Prioritize curriculum. What is essential- enduring or conceptual understanding that would be the central idea lines and concepts. What’s important to know- knowledge and skills and worth being familiar with - some more knowledge #pyptd
@NicoleJaggers had some fantastic ideas and input into the #pyptd discussion yesterday. Thank you for the new light bulb moments. A bases for discussions at my own school. #collaboration
@msbmcneil @AbromeEd @ibpyp @ang_meikle The timetable was collapsed & specialists were mentors supporting the technical needs of the group. Students could be set or costume designers, prop or costume makers, stage managers, singers, dancers, actors, publicists ... they had choice, voice & ownership and loved it! #PYPTD
@msbmcneil @AbromeEd @ibpyp @ang_meikle Yes actually! The annual school musical was part of the cultural tradition of the school that Year 6 students in their final year saw as a right of passage and really looked forward to! The agency and relevance was in their choice of how they were involved! #PYPTD @ibpyp
Catching up on #PYPTD - so many ideas about developing transdisciplinary learning. #myonlinepd @ibpyp https://t.co/Q1g1tiDjOZ
@msbmcneil @KidsInquire In time, we’ll also add in Halliday’s learning language ideas so we will be looking at skill sets and dispositions that experts in those subjects use and develop over the years. “As scientists, we’ll generate hypotheses and draw conclusions from data.” #PYPTD
@msbmcneil @KidsInquire In essence, a unit with a central idea that is based on learning about social studies concepts and doing this through reading, too, isn’t transdisciplinary. We need the central idea to be relevant to learning about social studies and another subject such as reading. #PYPTD
@msbmcneil @KidsInquire We want to make sure our POI central ideas allow for learning about multiple subjects. We are considering if we were only learning about one subject and through another, then is that really the idea of transdisciplinary learning? #PYPTD
@msbmcneil @KidsInquire The central idea may not have a similar significance to other subjects. They might just be used as a vehicle to learn through as we study concepts in the central idea. For example, we read and draw conclusions about text based on economic concepts. #PYPTD
@msbmcneil @KidsInquire In a TD POI unit, the central idea is writtten in such a way that it states a conceptual idea that connects concepts that have significance in multiple subjects. These concepts from these subjects are being learned about in this unit. #PYPTD
