Very proud that #AlfieAndPepper are #SBSwinners π§‘π
I met @TheoPaphitis last year for the first time π
Alfie & Pepper books have been involved with several charities, including #PackedWithHope backpacks for children fleeing Ukraine.
Children need #books & stories in their lives
@LittleToller @PenUkraine @Book_Aid @Ofmooseandmen Iβll never forget that weekend #PackedWithHope What youβve done since then is bloominβ brilliant π»π
It was two years ago that we packed 10,000 backpacks for Ukrainian children in a disused warehouse in Dorset with an army of volunteers.
Two years on Iβm preparing to print another 12,000 books for Ukrainian libraries working with @PenUkraine and @Book_Aid
#PackedwithHope

School in a Bag Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal - Funding SchoolBags to enable children to continue their education in the recovery phase of the disasterhttps://mailchi.mp/ab33fa6027fa/school-in-a-bag-turkey-and-syria-earthquake-appeal
When the full-scale war began, books seemed to be nonessentials.
But then Gracie @LittleToller came into my life with #PackedWithHope & changed my perception of the role of books.
And even offered to take part in this new fab project. Please support usβ€οΈ

Delighted to see the roots of #PackedWithHope flourishing in to #PineappleLane @LittleToller As a book lover & one of those original 250 volunteers, itβs great to have another creative & much needed initiative to support π π https://t.co/rsKrbrXyIN
Very early on in the #PackedwithHope campaign we recognised the need for this book to not just be in Ukrainian but also English & asked the authors to write a note to the children, it became an incredibly powerful resource, & is now the seminal childrens book about the war.
@LittleToller @Ofmooseandmen Yes! #PackedWithHope is such a huge & brilliant achievement for you & the gang! Well done β
I wish I could've done more π₯Ήπ³
2022 has been a year like no other for me.
The #PackedwithHope campaign changed my life forever. Standing at the border in Romania handing out our backpacks after 6 weeks of exhaustive work will stay with me forever.
Big πβs to everyone who helped me.
Happy New Year. β€οΈπΊπ¦
Many thanks to Anna for this card from Kyiv, one of the brilliant women from the Ukraine we met in April whilst distributing the #packedwithhope backpacks to displaced children in Romania.

During the #PackedwithHope campaign we sent an artic of aid to πΊπ¦via Dennis who runs Chernobyl Childrenβs Lifeline.
Dennis has just taken 100 Ukrainian children to Poland for a Christmas respite treat, what an incredible thing to do.
This is not an easy Christmas for so many.
@Ofmooseandmen @LittleToller @thebookseller @BBCRadio4 Filling all those backpacks, alongside so many fantastic people, was the best volunteering event of this year ππ#PackedWithHope
Best thing in Publishing in 2022.
Together with Gracie @LittleToller
We started #Packedwithhope - raised over Β£80K & sent 55k books in 10K backpacks to displaced Ukrainian children.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered & donated.

I know that Ken has graciously talked about our little shop in here and our #PackedwithHope campaign.
I can't get through the paywall but you might be able to!
After reaching a low in 2016 of just over 800 independent bookshops, the sector has rebounded, with nearly 1,100 trading at the end of 2021, writes Ken Worpole. https://t.co/4P8ouya8MA
@crawf34 Without Twitter I might not have found @LittleToller..which, in turn, led me to play a small part in #packedwithhope
This has filled me with joy.
