Within hours of the outbreak, multiple shelters and rescues stepped up to help us, opening their doors to our adoptable shelter pets. San Diego Humane Society, Santa Barbara Humane, Best Friends Animal Society, Humane Society of Ventura County, Sacramento SPCA, Wallis Annenberg PetSpace and Little Bitty Animal Sanctuary worked tirelessly to transport our animals to safety. This effort has made an immeasurable difference, freeing up space for us to take in evacuated and stray animals in need. Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center has also been a lifeline, transporting wildlife to their center for care and rehabilitation. We cannot express enough how deeply grateful we are for the generosity, compassion, and teamwork of these incredible organizations. Their support has been nothing short of lifesaving. We’ve also been deeply moved by the outpouring of support from our community, with so many of you offering to foster pets in need. While the majority of the animals in our care right now are emergency boarding animals or strays that may soon be reunited with their families, we anticipate a growing need for long-term foster homes in the coming days.
