While I respect your view on 5th Edition, I’ve also spent quite a bit of time playing it, so I’d like to share my own perspective. To me, comparisons between Pathfinder and later systems like D&D 5e are largely subjective. Pathfinder seems to focus more on tactical depth and character optimization, while 5e puts more emphasis on ease of play, narrative flexibility, and the idea of bounded accuracy — keeping numbers within a tighter range so power gaps don’t get too extreme. Because of that, I don’t really see one as clearly “better” than the other. They feel like systems built around different design philosophies, each supporting a different style of play.
