A word about pronunciation. I heard Guyon Espiner say pedant with the empasis on the "ant" instead of on the first syllable. Later I heard "pianist" with the stress on the "an" instead of on the "pi". Which do you use? Oxford Dictionary says I'm correct .🙄 #PedantAlert

#PedantAlert Spot the infraction. It's such a common error these days. ("Number" is used with countable nouns (things that can be individually counted, like apples or people), while "amount" is used with uncountable nouns (things that cannot be individually counted, like water.)

"Both Mayor Wayne Brown and Transport Minister Simeon Brown honed in on the costly safety upgrades." This is such a common error. To hone is to sharpen. To home in is to focus strongly on or towards something. Some say they can be interchangeable. I don't. #PedantAlert
