🇫🇮🐶 American media has discovered Pentulive, or 'Puppies Live' and is now reporting on Finland's obsession with puppies. For the past five years, Finland's national public broadcaster, YLE, has run a show called Pentulive, where cameras livestream a mother dog and her puppies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for approximately eight weeks. That's it. Just a mother dog giving birth, looking after her bebbes, and six puppies growing up in a dog bed. The cameras follow everything from their first days of life until they're old enough to go to their new homes. The nation is obsessed with this. The current season features Hilkka, a Lagotto Romagnolo, and her six puppies, born on October 10. Millions of page visits have poured in, and the show has become a national phenomenon. People follow the puppies' development, give them nicknames, chat with other viewers, and celebrate milestones like their eyes opening and their first attempts at walking. There are even games where viewers predict when the puppies will reach particular milestones. It's Big Brother/Fishtank Live hecking wholesome chungus reality television where the point is to watch puppies instead of human drama. Why the fuck not?
