Following on from our #PetsBehindTheScreen campaign to raise awareness of the reality behind many online adverts for dogs and cats, we are still calling for EU regulation to protect both animals and consumers.
We appreciate the numerous MEPs that have helped in this effort.
Our #PetsBehindTheScreen report found that on a given day 438,004 🐶and 80,712 🐱 are advertised for sale.
We want to see a strategy developed by the European Commission to regulate this industry! 💻
Important issues raised by @Presa_Diretta last night:
❌ Suffering caused by breeding for extremes of conformation
❌ Puppy mills
❌ Illegal cross-border trade
❌ Lack of regulation of online advertising
