The Old State House served as the British royal governor's office, the Massachusetts state house, and #Boston's city hall at various times in its history. The stone medallion outside marks the site of the Boston Massacre. #PlaceBasedBos
Our #PlaceBasedBos cohort of @BostonSchools teachers was blown away by the performance of Cato & Dolly at the Old State House. This 24 minute play tells the story of John Hancock's wife, Dolly, and a freed slave, Cato, who works in their household.

The USS Constitution Museum encourages visitors to take the role of a sailor who served aboard ship. Mine was Richard Dunn, whose leg was amputated (see the surgical kit!) after a War of 1812 naval battle, but who nonetheless lived a long and productive life. #PlaceBasedBos
A nice reminder at the @USSConstMuseum that African Americans have always had a critical role in our nation's armed services, including in the War of 1812. #PlaceBasedBos
Our #PlaceBasedBos teachers loved analyzing the 1813 paintings depicting the USS Constitution's defeat of the Guerriere in the War of 1812. We then visited the ship, one of the original six commissioned in the US Navy by President Washington, and still an active service vessel.
