Greg Brooks was transferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis late last week to continue treatments for brain cancer, Brian Kelly confirmed on @finebaum. Kelly added there is another surgery scheduled.
LSU’s senior Captain @Gbrooks5_ was recently diagnosed with brain cancer, and the outpouring of love has been amazing. The optimism held by those that root for him, his @lsufootball Tigers, and just hood people winning has been moving. Still, Greg’s fight can’t be won by support or optimistic thinking.
His mother & father have seen the worst of it; from fetal positions are the floor before his brain tumor was removed to now Greg not being able to speak nor stand up. There is so much pain, death, sadness in each room on the floor of his ICU that you can’t help but think “this kid doesn’t not belong here, he just played 65 snaps Vs FSU”. I know we all want him to fight like a Tiger but it will take more than that, & the reality of seeing him reminds you in the most devastating way.
