I have been in touch with our local @DC_Police today about people staying overnight in #NDevon. They have issued tickets last night, will do so tonight, are out and about advising visitors to head back home at the end of the day. #PleaseComeBackLater

The key word in here is "local". We are still not quite ready to welcome back visitors to #NDevon as our car parks and public toilets are not yet open #PleaseComeBackLater

You can... ✅ Exercise without time limits ✅ Spend time outdoors with your household BUT ✅ Be respectful of local communities ✅ Social distance at all times ✅ Plan in advance - don't assume car parks & toilets are open ✅ Leave if it's too busy ❌ Do not stay overnight

The new guidance on day trips is to enable OUTDOOR activities, not to visit second homes etc. Please also check where you are going before you leave your house and be aware that parking, food and beverage and other facilities (including toilets) may be limited or closed.

This message is very clear. I hope that anyone planning to exercise on our beautiful #NDevon beaches and countryside this weekend follows the guidance, and is aware that facilities here remain closed including most car parks and public toilets. #PleaseComeBackLater

You and your household can head outdoors for your physical & mental wellbeing in England. But be respectful to local people & communities. You must adopt social distancing at all times. Then return to your primary home - No overnight stays, including second homes & holiday homes.
