The term #poikiloderma describes a tetrad of cutaneous findings that include the following: (1) atrophy of the epidermis, (2) telangiectasia, (3) hyperpigmentation, and (4) hypopigmentation, giving the skin a mottled appearance. Poikiloderma can occur in #dermatomyositis (DM) and may even be the presenting manifestation. Patients may develop it at any photoexposed site; however, the classic areas of involvement are the upper back (shawl sign) and the neck and upper chest (V-sign). Poikiloderma in DM often presents with a violaceous hue. In the early stages of the skin disease, these areas may show only erythema rather than well-developed poikiloderma. The erythema may be macular (nonpalpable) or papular. In rare patients, these lesions become thickened and resemble papular mucinosis. The skin rash of DM is often associated with significant pruritus, which may help distinguish its photo-exacerbated rash from that of cutaneous lupus erythematosus. Patients with DM may also develop poikiloderma on the lateral aspects of the thighs, known as the Holster sign. La #dermatomiositis afecta #Piel y #músculo. A nivel dérmico se observa #rashmalar , #heliotropo (se ve en esta paciente), pápulas de #gottron , manos de mecánico, #hiperpigmentación, #poikiloderma, etc. La foto muestra hiperpigmentación en la frente de esta mujer con DMT. #Skin

Mujer de 27 años con #lupus, desde el inicio del embarazo presentó cambios dérmicos, #artritis y #alopecia . Un mes antes del parto desarrolló #orina espumosa. La foto (#puerperio) muestra cambios de #poikiloderma (hiper e hipopigmentación , atrofia y #telangiectasias). #sle
