Yesterday, during His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa’s wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of President Oliver Reginald Tambo at OR Tambo Square, Protection and Security Services members were also present.
After the ceremony, Lieutenant General Motlhala took time to speak to his members, thanking them for their commitment and encouraging them to apply for the available posts and further their education. His message was one of growth and upliftment, encouraging members to invest in themselves and continue working towards better opportunities.

#PoliceVisibility remains heightened across Gauteng as air and ground units maintain continuous monitoring over key areas in the province, including Olivenhoutbosch, Sunnyside, and Thembisa as shown in the images.
From the skies, SAPS air support units are actively assisting ground teams to ensure enhanced rapid response, and effective coverage of identified hotspots.
These coordinated operations form part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order, prevent criminality, and ensure public safety across the province, with the assistance from other law enforcement agencies aswell.

The objective of the Vehicle Checkpoint was to prevent and combat crime through high police visibility, detect and apprehend wanted suspects, recover stolen vehicles and illegal firearms, ensure compliance with traffic and vehicle regulations, and strengthen community confidence in law enforcement through proactive policing operations.
During the operation, a total of 336 persons and 283 vehicles were searched. Nineteen traffic fines to the value of R8 400,00 were issued for various traffic infringements, while one unroadworthy vehicle was impounded by Traffic officials. NP

#sapsFS The South African Police Service are ensuring that all visitors feel safe as they conduct #PoliceVisibility patrols at the annual agricultural exhibition of Nampo, which is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Units such as Bothaville Visible Policing, Bloemfontein Mounted Unit, Welkom Public Order Policing and Welkom K-9 patrolled the area on foot, horses and vehicles.
Sergeant Mothusi Mjika with a 24-year-old horse named Awakening as well as Segeant Sibusiso Mzizi with a 11-year-old horse named Shakira were on back horses around South parking lot.
Members will continue to ensure that visitors enjoy a safe event. NP

#sapsFS Fezile Dabi District members conducted a Vehicle Check Point on the R716, led by the Oranjeville Station Commander, Captain Mahlatsi. The operation was carried out to enhance #PoliceVisibility, ensure compliance with road traffic legislation, and prevent criminal activities within the area.
During the operation, vehicles were stopped and inspected, and drivers were requested to produce valid driver’s licences and vehicle documentation. Focus was also placed on conducting thorough searches of vehicles and occupants for illegal firearms, dangerous weapons, drugs, and other illegal items, in line with #SAPS crime prevention duties.
Motorists were engaged in a professional manner and educated on road safety and compliance with traffic regulations. The operation was executed successfully without any incidents, and good cooperation was received from the public.
