As we step into the new year, we are excited to introduce to the PolyU community the brand-new restaurant โU GARDENโ at the Core CD and DE podiums on #PolyUCampus. The restaurant held its soft opening ceremony last Monday and is preparing for its official soft opening next week! ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ด
This unique dining space beautifully merges the old with the new at PolyU, preserving its rich history while embracing modern design ๐ซ. It retains the iconic waffle ceiling from the 70s, a symbol of PolyU, while integrating a modern beige palette that complements our traditional brick-red campus ๐งฑ. The restaurant features arches and curves in its design, with large windows allowing natural light to flood the space, offering diners a lush view of the University Square ๐ณ and creating an inviting and cozy leisure and dining space for PolyU students and staff. The design concept emphasises green elements, including indoor potted plants, an upgraded exterior garden, and redesigned 'planters' bars, which extend the lushness of University Square indoors and further enhance the green ambiance and connectivity of our campus. ๐ฑ ๐ฑ
As a testbed for PolyU research, U GARDEN also applies Prof. Yang Hongxing's cutting-edge research on energy-efficient air conditioning, promoting sustainability on campus. ใ#UniversitySquare officially opens! ๐ใWith the graduation season approaching, graduates can be seen taking photos everywhere on the #PolyUCampus. ๐ฉโ๐ This year, a new check-in hotspot appears near by the library โ the University Square! ๐ The Inauguration Ceremony of the University Square was officiated by Dr Lam Tai-fai, Council Chairman of PolyU, and Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU today. This joyful occasion was witnessed by PolyU Council members, Court members, PolyU Foundation Governing Committee members, the Universityโs management, staff, students and alumni. This green grass yard was officially introduced to everyone, adding greenness and vitality to the campus and turning #PolyU into an urban oasis. ๐
