"कल तक जो धुर विरोधी थे, आज वो गले मिल रहे हैं। राजनीति में न कोई परमानेंट दोस्त होता है और न दुश्मन, बस 'परमानेंट' होती है तो सत्ता की कुर्सी! विचारधारा तो सिर्फ कार्यकर्ताओं के बहलाने और दीवारों पर पोस्टर लगाने के काम आती है। 🎭🤝 #CoalitionPolitics #PowerGame #IndianPoliticians
"आज की राजनीति का नया नियम: सुबह की वफादारी, शाम की बगावत! महाराष्ट्र के सियासी ड्रामे को देखकर जनता भी भ्रमित है कि कौन सी पार्टी असली है और कौन सी नकली। विकास के वादे कहीं फाइलों में ही न दबे रह जाएं। 🤔💭 #MaharashtraPolitics #PowerGame"

Peru's presidential runoff ended this week with leftist Roberto Sánchez beating conservative Keiko Fujimori by a margin under half a point, in a country that had been split almost exactly down the middle for months.
Fujimori spent the campaign collecting endorsements from far-right figures across the region, including a video call with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado. It wasn't enough.
A nation polarized for an entire election cycle decided the race by roughly 36,000 votes out of millions cast.
Most of those voters never met either candidate's foreign allies and didn't need to.
The endorsements traveled faster than the actual vote did. 🍌

Colombia heads to a presidential runoff on June 21.
Trump gave candidate Abelardo de la Espriella his "complete and total endorsement" on Truth Social, and two members of US Congress, one from Florida, one from Ohio, backed him publicly as well.
Colombia's president called it election interference.
None of these Americans have a vote in this race, and none of them answer to Colombian voters for what happens after.
De la Espriella thanked Trump publicly for the endorsement.
Whatever Colombians decide on June 21, the loudest voice in the campaign's final stretch wasn't a Colombian one. 🍌

Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway's Crown Princess, was sentenced to 4yrs in prison this week.
He was convicted on two of four rape charges and acquitted on the other two.
He carries no royal title and stood no royal protection in that courtroom.
The prosecutor said directly that, being related to the royal family should mean neither lighter nor harsher treatment than anyone else would get.
Plenty of people doubted that statement would hold up against a crown princess's son.
This week, in this one case, it did.
Whether it holds the next time a name like this ends up in a courtroom is still an open question. 🍌

Lula da Silva is widening his lead over Flavio Bolsonaro in polling for October's election, recovering ground after reports linked Bolsonaro to a disgraced banker accused of fraud.
Flavio is Jair Bolsonaro's son, running while his father serves a prison sentence for plotting a coup.
Brazil's politics keep running through two families instead of two platforms, and voters keep showing up to choose between them anyway.
Both candidates have already met with Trump at the White House this year.
Whichever family wins in October still has to manage a relationship with Washington that neither fully controls. 🍌

The US military has killed at least 208 people in boat strikes since September.
The campaign is called Operation Southern Spear.
In the very first strike, two survivors clung to wreckage in the water. A second strike was ordered specifically to kill them.
The Pentagon has not shown public evidence that a single boat was carrying drugs.
Amnesty International calls it extrajudicial. Congress has not voted to stop it. 🍌

UN Secretary-General Guterres visited Port-au-Prince this week.
2,300 people have been killed in Haiti so far this year.
Another 100 have been kidnapped.
Soldiers from Chad are now stationed there under a UN mandate, fighting gangs that control most of the capital while Haiti's own police force is stretched past what it can hold.
The country hasn't had a functioning government in years. The world keeps sending soldiers and officials. Nobody's sent back a government. 🍌

Mexico's President Sheinbaum asked a direct question at a rally this week. Is the US fight against cartels genuine help, or American politicians using Mexico to position themselves ahead of their own elections?
The US Ambassador, a former CIA station chief named Ron Johnson, answered her on X instead of through diplomatic channels.
He called turning the fight into a political dispute a missed opportunity for partnership.
A sitting president raised a question about a foreign government's motives in public. The answer came back as a post, not a phone call. 🍌

Armenians voted Sunday in the most watched election in their region this year.
Pashinyan's Civil Contract party took nearly 50% of the vote.
The EU's top diplomat called it proof of Armenia's democratic resilience against outside interference.
Neither she nor anyone else celebrating from abroad had to live with the result on Monday morning. 🍌

Swiss voters went to the polls last sunday to decide if the country should cap its population at 10 million.
The Swiss People's Party pushed it, blaming overcrowded trains and a tight housing market on immigration.
The countryside voted yes. The cities voted no, and the cities decided it.
Switzerland has let EU citizens live and work there freely since 2002, a policy this vote was really aimed at.
The proposal lost, the housing shortage stayed, and nobody on either side has to explain why those two facts are connected. 🍌

The US and Iran agreed this week to reopen Hormuz, a chokepoint for roughly a fifth of the world's oil supply. Markets rallied within hours. Oil prices dropped globally.
The agreement was brought to the G7 summit in Évian, where Macron hosted the room and quickly shared the spotlight.
Nobody asked whether Macron's domestic approval rating had anything to do with the deal landing. Markets reacting to global news don't check who's actually popular at home.
Whoever hosts the room gets credited with the outcome, whether or not they had anything to do with it. 🍌

France has had 5 Prime Ministers in under 2yrs.
Lecornu resigned and was reappointed in the same week last October.
This week Macron hosted 7 world leaders in Evian like none of that happened.

The FEC cannot currently address online campaign finance violations.
Social media political advertising is the fastest growing category of campaign spending in 2026.
The agency specifically created to regulate it cannot issue a single advisory opinion, investigate a single complaint or establish a single new rule about it.
The most unregulated frontier in modern elections is operating during an election year with zero active federal oversight.
Nobody called that a crisis. 🍌

Nobody can currently be fined for breaking campaign finance laws.
The rules exist on paper. The enforcement does not exist in practice.
Every political committee, every super PAC and every campaign operating right now knows that reporting violations, spending violations and coordination violations cannot be actioned until the quorum is restored.
The speed limit is posted.
The police went home.
What happens next is predictable. 👀

When the detention watchdog closed, its website became archived content.
Every complaint filed. Every death reviewed. Every investigation opened. Archived.
The institutional memory of what happened inside those facilities does not disappear when the office closes.
It just becomes inaccessible to anyone trying to use it as evidence.
The record still exists. The access doesn't. 👀

73,000 people are currently in ICE detention ... a record high.
The office that handled their complaints, investigated their deaths and reviewed their conditions now has one employee.
One person. Assigned to cover 3 oversight offices simultaneously.
That is not a restructuring.
That is the appearance of oversight with the function removed.
