Train home. Prof actually on same one as me this time. But didn’t book the seat next to me. It’s pretty empty so could have moved. But no, we board same carriage, he waves, ‘see you in Paris’. #ProfonTour

Cooking dinner (prof doesn’t cook obviously). He walks in. No inquiry on progress. Fiddles with coffee machine. Swears. Declares there are no filter papers. Takes car keys and drives off to supermarket to buy some. Dinner is ready…#ProfonTour

Five minutes of umming and ahhing over what beer to buy (cos there’s no real ale in France), one pack of 1664 bought. One bottle drunk, Prof announces it tastes of nothing and marches off to the supermarket to get some wine. #ProfonTour

Day 1. Why no news of Prof you ask? Well…he’s joining a trip I’d already booked. He reviewed my journey plan, declared he didn’t like it and booked a different (longer) route. So each of us travelling to the same place, on train all day, but totally separate. #ProfonTour
