The 80 m long *Jagannathan Bridge*, constructed by Project DANTAK@BRO, was virtually inaugurated on 16 Sep 2026 by Shri Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Bhutan, and Dr S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, India.
A vital link connecting Samdrup Jongkhar with Trashigang, the bridge strengthens the movement of people, goods and services and reinforces enduring Bhutan–India friendship.

*🇮🇳🤝🇧🇹 Strengthening the enduring India–Bhutan Friendship*
A landmark Bailey Bridge over the Golanthi River on the Samrang–Jomotsangkha Highway in Eastern Bhutan has been constructed by Project Dantak@BRO.
Inaugurated by H.E. Lyonpo Younten Phuntsho, Minister of Agriculture & Livestock, Royal Government of Bhutan, the bridge is the longest Bailey Bridge in Eastern Bhutan. The ceremony featured traditional prayers and vibrant cultural performances, celebrating the shared heritage and enduring partnership between India and Bhutan.
The bridge provides all-weather connectivity to villages that were previously cut off during the monsoon, ensuring safer travel, improved access to essential services and contributing to regional development.
