A Refajo* means a "slip on" (inner garment). A Refajo Colombiano is a drink with 3/4 to 2/3 beer & 1/4 to 1/3 soda depending on who makes it & where. The soda is mostly a Colombiana**.
This drink is common in the hotter regions of 🇨🇴, as part of family gatherings.

Good evening from Restrepo, Meta department.
Schools are closed for the week, offices barely function during the holy week. Holidays extend till Sunday, in some cases for the next week also.

Guataquía river, flows into Humea river, which then flows into Metica river. A few kilometers downstream, Metica and Upía join to form Meta river.
Meta river is part of the mighty Orinoco river system that separates Colombia and Venezuela.

Upín river is born in the foothills of the Eastern Andes & flows through rural Restrepo to join Caney river. Caney flows into Guataquía.
These bridges are over RN65 and RN65 by pass that connects Villavicencio with Yopal, marking the entrance to Urban Restrepo.

The obelisk of the Belly button or midpoint of Colombia is located in a place called Alto de Menegua, rural zone of Puerto López, Meta dept.
Here the 4°N latitude meets the 72°W longitude.
The symbolism in this obelisk is striking starting with the planets.

Humea river rises from the foothills of the Eastern Andes. Humea, Guacavía and Guataquía rivers flow into the Metica river which eventually joins with Upía river to form Meta river. This is part of the mighty Orinoco river system and is one of the longest in SA.

There is nothing more relaxing than a good old gossip in the main plaza after a long day. To their right, is the main church. Behind them is the townhall. Infront and to the left are commercial establishments. This is how the main plaza of a Colombian town is.

An overcast sky over the plains, and it may rain any time. If you zoom in, you can see Restrepo, Meta at the distance, right at the end of the mountains and the beginning of the plains.
Meta department is bountiful, in fertile land, water, people, and culture.

So, here we are, at the same place, Restrepo, Meta, on the auspicious day of Aani Uthiram. We expect some really sunny & sweaty days ahead, thanks to 'Project Hola'.
Not a lot has changed from 2015, except the brick facade of the church.

Here is a picture of the main plaza of Restrepo from that trip. As I stand here today, reflecting on the past years and opportunities that this town has offered, I am simply grateful.

I visited Restrepo, Meta, for the first time in 2015. I was invited to a chariot ride around the town, by a wonderful lady, that later became, my family.
9 years later, I am happy and grateful to have moved from being an "amigo del llano" to "yerno del llano"

This little 2 year old, that is the size of the wheel, was helping her father fill air and close the valve stem cap.
I usually pay 4000-5000 pesos for air, and this time, I paid 10000 pesos to this cute assistant.

In Restrepo, Meta, there are two bridges over the Upin River - one inside the town and the other in the RN 65 road connecting Villavicencio, Meta's capital, and Yopal, Casanare's capital. Upin flows into Caney River, which eventually into Guataquía River.
